Ryan & Louis Beeden, students at The Gateway Academy, have been attending ‘Gateway Radio’ in Basildon every Saturday for the last few months resulting in not only guaranteeing their Year 10 work placement at the station but accomplishing the ‘Essex Arts Award’.
The brothers obtained the award for showing commitment to a community project in their own time and have gained Bronze level.
To be awarded the bronze, young people have to focus on an out of school activity and attend regularly, demonstrating a clear commitment.
There are three levels to the award and the brothers are aiming high!
None other than the acclaimed British actress, Dame Helen Mirren has certified the awards.
